Since I have been going to the LifeCare Center I have watched several videos and learned a lot about infant and child development and care. They even gave me a list of the local daycares when I needed help with childcare. I also attended a CPR class and I was able to get certified. They helped me get things I needed for my daughter. WIC came to do a nutrition class, which was great because I learned about lactose intolerant substitutes for my daughter. Thank you LifeCare. - C.H.
To me, LifeCare can be scary at first going in, seeing people you don't know, thinking they will judge you. But in reality, it's not. It's actually soothing. You're welcomed always with a smile and a hello. If they see you're down they ask you if you need to talk. They aren't there just for you to watch a video and learn about your unborn baby. They are a part of your support system. Almost like a second family. They listen and give advice so that you can succeed. - A
We discussed adoption options because his parents thought that might be a good alternative to raising the baby. I however could not ever think of placing my child for adoption, but I didn't have skills and abilities needed to raise a child. For the next year and a half we attended parenting classes and earned incentives that helped us get needed items for our baby, such as a crib, car seat, diapers, and clothes. I learned what to expect during the birth process and what to expect when I brought baby home. - M
The life care pregnancy center has changed my life completely. I still can remembee walking through those doors nervous and had no idea what to expect. I was welcomed with open arms and happy faces every time. This no longer is just a place i go and went to. It's like another home. I wouldn't be the mother I am today without thier love and support. I walked in at 13 weeks and within that first week I got to meet my baby. They make you feel comfortable but most of all not alone. The days leading up to giving birth if I ever missed an appointment I had a phone call right away checking to make sure I'm doing alright.
As time went on the comfort level began to feel like home. It was no longer just an earn to learn program. It was a place I felt like I could talk all things baby along with different things going on in life. - L.G.
There are also individuals that are blessed by the Center that we might not realize. A grandmother wanted information about the Center to share with her grandchild. The young couple came in for an initial visit and verified a positive pregnancy test. After they participated in the EWYL Program the couple shared with grandma that they really were thinking about abortion, but coming to the Center had changed their decision. They were grateful for Grandma who cared enough to help them through this difficult time.
When I first found out I was pregnant I was very scared and confused. I also had very little support from my family. Not knowing if I was ready to be a mom, I made an appointment at an abortion center. I was also in panic mode at the time! I was so alone and scared. The date of my abortion was also the date of my first ultrasound. That day would either be the day I welcomed life or terminated life. I chose life! My daughter is my life. I have no idea what I would do without her. She is my everything! The LifeCare Center helped give me the support and some of the resources I needed for me to make my decision. In the end, it was the right decision!
